nova-anime@yahoogroups.com

"What is nova-anime@yahoogroups.com?" It is a mailing list for the use of members of the Northern Oregon and Vancouver (WA) Anime club. This does not mean that one must be a member of NOVA to subscribe, lurk or contribute, but since it is mainly related to local matters, it would probably be of little interest to others.

nova-anime@yahoogroups.com is in no way an official ML for NOVA. Use it in good health.

This mailing list has been used to notify members of the current schedule of events, and changes of meeting location. Local events of interest, such as Hong Kong Film Festivals at Cinema 21 are also found here.

"What if I don't have e-mail access?" If you have Web access you can use http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/nova-anime/. When you sign up, you will be given the option of receiving list messages via e-mail, or reading them on the Web.

Still, you need a contact address for administration of your membership. For instance, your log-on to groups.yahoo.com Web interface is an e-mail address and a password. Whenever you make a change, such as joining or unjoining a list, e-mail is sent to that e-mail address to confirm your intentions. For a free (often Web-based) e-mail account, just go to Yahoo and search for free e-mail. Some of your choices are netadress.com, hotmail.com and rocketmail.com.

"Is there a nova-anime archive I can read from the Web instead of getting an e-mail address?" Yes! Messages have been archived for nearly a year now; groups.yahoo.com archives all messages in the group (unless you have 'x-no-archive: yes' in your e-mail headers.

"How do I subscribe?" To subscribe to nova-anime, simply send an e-mail message to nova-anime-subscribe@yahoogroups.com with no body. To unsubscribe, send an email to nova-anime-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com (again with no body message).

NOTE to reporters and others planning an article or essay on the anime scene:

You are welcome to join the nova-anime mailing list, but as a courtesy to the members of NOVA, please announce your presence when you subscribe. It will be less sneaky, and some members might just step forward to help you with your facts. Thanks.
